Critical Precision Carbine Course

This 16-hr / 2-day course is designed to develop critical pistol skillsets and capabilities necessary to place accurate carbine fire under various threat contingencies. Progressive phases of development advances student’s decision-making process, critical situational analysis and execution, motor skills, carbine precision shot requirements, and principles and efficiency techniques on situations that require immediate defense with their carbine system.

This course will require vetting on participation as it is a basic to intermediate stage performance course that will be physically demanding. Prior marksmanship training is required.

Training Objectives:

• Expeditionary mindset development: proactive vs reactive upon immediate threat/s
• Contingency though process on EDC and equipment: principle/sop vs shooter solution
• Carbine safe handling skills
• Carbine fundamental application and weapon mechanics/motor-skills development
• Various safe carbine carry configurations
• Grouping drills at known distances: understanding proper sight pictures and hold-offs, trigger manipulation, support arm control methods, proper muscular tension holds for recoil management purposes
• Precision shot accuracy drills focused on low percentage shots
• Rapid carbine employment and engagement methods
• Moving and shooting and support arm control methods
• Carbine firing shoulder transition/strong-to-weak-side and accurate shot placement
• Barricade occupation and clearance methods: hasty vs deliberate
• Target transition/multi-threat engagement methods
• Speed reload techniques/tac-mag reloads and threat follow through
• Multi-threat engagement methods and stress drills
• Various body positions determined by assessment and situation
• Carbine weapon malfunction clearance procedures and threat follow through
• Carbine manipulation techniques
• Multi-round/cadence fire with support arm management control methods
• Three-dimensional thought application and threat engagement process
• Target discrimination
• Critical task evaluation development
• Focal cognitive drills
• Post threat engagement procedures

Required Equipment:

• Operating carbine system with sling
• Carbine optics and/or iron sights (optics with magnification are recommended to have at least a 1x-setting)
• Ballistic eye protection (have clear lenses for cloudy / weather days)
• Hearing protection (noise canceling, earplugs, earmuffs, etc.)
• Either body armor, tac-vest, carbine belt magazine carriers (must be able to hold a minimum of 2 carbine magazines)
• 5 functioning carbine magazines
• Extra optic batteries if carbine has mounted holographic (recommend as none will be provided)
• Weapon lubricant and cleaning kit
• Knee or elbow pads (optional)
• Gloves (optional)
• Water, snacks, lunch
• Proper clothing attire for range training and weather
• 750 rounds carbine training ammunition
